Hello! Salut ! Namaste! I'm Aman. This page is about who I am.
I'm looking for...
A serious, long-term, monogamous relationship based on trust, open communication, and understanding.
A brief Introduction
While working remotely, I have been living a semi-nomadic life since 2017.
I have spent plenty of time in Bali, Vietnam, India, Malta, and Italy. Over the years, I adopted cultures and lifestyles of places I lived and travelled to. I have discontinued my nomadic life, although I do want to travel from time to time while having a base.
I finally decided to settle down at a place, and I chose Lyon, as I love the city, its people, the food it offers, and the nature around it. I really love the French and Swiss Alps and am also not opposed to living in Geneva and the surrounding region.
I'm learning French, but I'm not conversational yet. I hope to be better soon π
Iβm ethnically Indian and am 169cm tall. Iβm unbothered by these, but I know many women are - so just putting it out there!
My Values
I believe in open-mindedness, compassion, empathy, love, and equality.
Not religious but spiritual. Minimalist.
I care about what I consume, although Iβm not radical. Over the years, I've been reducing the intake of meat, sugar, and processed food.
I relate to a mix of Eastern and Western values, trying to balance community with individual freedom, order with beautiful chaos, modernity with old-world wisdom.
I try to understand other people, society and most importantly, myself. Looking inwards, through therapy, philosophy, and spirituality, has been the most rewarding action of my life.
I can't relate to extremist political or sociological ideologies.
My Interests
Nature: Hiking, camping, watching the night sky, picnics in nature
Social: Board games, meeting people over beer/wine/tea/coffee, cooking together
Knowledge: Philosophy, psychology, sociology
Sports: Trail running, chess, padel
Other Interests: Reading, writing, cooking, animals, visiting museums, cinema, making random lists, and building a website for everything.
Things I'd love to try: salsa (dance, not the food ;), tennis, skiing, plants, rock climbing, flute, piano, nature art.
My Personality
I am full of contrasts. I'm masculine and feminine; a child and an adult; carefree and responsible, spontaneous and planned, silly and deep, confident and anxious, sometimes a genius and sometimes, not the brightest candle in the room π I have learnt to accept all the parts that make me.
I'm an introvert, but I love people! I socialize a lot, but also need my own space.
I love exploring new experiences, and am almost always up for an adventure.
I've a quiet personality - I rarely show extreme emotions, but I do feel them! And often communicate them too.
My Work
I don't believe in working excessively and becoming rich financially. Money is importnant, but not at the cost of a good life. For me, real wealth is my time. I usually work for 2-4 hours a day, and spend the rest of my time on learning, side projects, and doing nothing.
-----
I've been a freelance marketing consultant for 8 years, and I work remotely with eCommerce brands in the US, EU, and Australian markets.
Along with my primary work as a marketing consultant, I'm helping my mum run a small sustainable handicraft business in India that's helping marginalised women achieve financial independence. I'm working on making this my primary work.
I have identified other women artists who are doing incredible work, and I'd like to support them.
- be there in each other's highs and lows, and grow together
My Thoughts on Love and Relationships
- We need to learn to love how others want to be loved, not how we want to love them.
- Love is all about giving. And everything we receive is a byproduct, not an expectation. When we find joy in giving, we release ourselves from the expectations. And when we love without expectations, we BECOME love. Example: I love offering massages, and I love it because it makes people feel good, not because I'll get one back (although it does feel good to get one back π
- We find love when we take down the walls we have built against it, not when we chase it.
- Love is action, not feelings. When you love someone, you choose to love them - even when you don't feel like it.
- A healthy relationship is more about how we handle the differences and conflicts than sharing good times. You can have a great sunny vacation with anyone, but with very few, you can come to a mutual understanding after a heated argument.
- The foundation of a healthy relationship lies in understanding our conditional and evolutionary biases, attachment styles, and how our past has shaped our present.
- I believe in repairing and appreciating the imperfections in things and trying to make them work, much like in relationships. But I have my boundaries where I canβt tolerate disrespect, dishonesty, and differences in fundamental values.
